On Day 1 of the Bay Area Tiger Entrepreneurs Conference, the Startup Showcase featured six Princeton startup companies selected for the Princeton Alumni Angels' Spring Pitch Cycle. Som Sleep, represented by Abdul Khan, won Judges' Choice and a prize of $5,000 for the company's drink, touted as the "Red Bull for sleep".
Interactive retail display startup Perch, represented by CEO Trevor Sumner '98, won Audience Choice and a prize of $1,000. Also presenting were localization cloud platform Radius8 (represented by Brendan Phelan *16), patient monitoring device company GraftWorx (Tim Robertson '96 and Samit Gupta), hempcrete startup Hempitecture (Tommy Gibbons '13) and "TurboTax for insurance forms" company Broker Buddha (Jason Keck).
The Showcase was sponsored and judged by Princeton Alumni Angels (represented by co-director Joelle Rauh '02) and the three venture firms focusing on Princeton startups: Chaac Ventures, represented by managing director Luke Armour '13; Fitz Gate Ventures, represented by managing director Mark Poag '93; Nassau Street Ventures, represented by managing director Tom Meyer '87.
