The Princeton Entrepreneurship Council (PEC), the alumni engagement arm of Princeton’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, cordially invites you join fellow Princeton alumni and their guests at the second Tiger Entrepreneurs Conference to be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 11 through 13, in Sunnyvale and San Francisco, respectively. The conference objectives are to educate, inspire, and engage the vibrant Princeton entrepreneurial community.

Over these three days, we will feature alumni working in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, explore startup experiences spanning technology, life sciences, social and arts enterprises, and highlight perspectives of both founders and investors. We will also bring the Princeton classroom to the Bay Area with three faculty members teaching a class from the rich set of entrepreneurial curricula now available to students. Thursday and Friday evenings will each close with a festive reception. Startup workshops will be offered on Saturday morning on select topics.

The Tiger Entrepreneurs Conference is part of a larger Princeton Entrepreneurship Week in the Bay Area. It kicks off on Wednesday evening with a separate event in San Francisco at which selected startups will present at the Princeton Alumni Angels Spring 2019 Pitch Night.

The conference begins on Thursday, April 11 at the Google campus in Sunnyvale with a full day of content, including:

  • Alumni panel discussions on innovation, tech startups, ed tech startups, and social impact organizations
  • Keynote address
  • Professor Derek Lidow teaching a class from his new course on the History of Entrepreneurship and future trends
  • Overview of Princeton Entrepreneurship -- across campus and the broader ecosystem
  • Startup showcase, featuring the same companies presenting to the angel investors at the Wednesday evening event, at which prize awards will be given to the top-judged presentation. The four judges represent each of the three Princeton-focused venture firms (Chaac Ventures, Fitz Gate Ventures, and Nassau Street Ventures) and PAA
  • Evening networking reception

On Friday, April 12, the conference venue shifts to the headquarters of Gap Inc., on the Embarcadero in San Francisco. Programming highlights include:

  • Keynote speaker
  • Alumni panel discussions on venture capital, life sciences startups, transit tech, arts entrepreneurship, and young alumni founders
  • Classroom teachings by Professor Marty Johnson on social entrepreneurship and Dr. David Miller on business ethics
  • Evening reception at Salesforce Tower (co-sponsored by Princeton’s Lewis Center for the Arts)

On Saturday morning, April 13 in San Francisco (location TBA), a number of content-rich workshops will be offered to alumni and guests interested in diving deeper into select topics. Choose from one of several workshops:

  • Capital fundraising and building a pitch deck
  • Software development project management
  • Arts entrepreneurship
  • High-performance team-building
  • Customer acquisition and digital marketing

You are invited to join any of three individual days. Conference packages are also available for the first two days, and all three days. When registering, please note that tickets are segmented into three categories: Young Alumni (graduation years 2015-2019), All Other Alumni, and Friends and Guests.

The inaugural Tiger Entrepreneurs Conference was held in October 2017 in Boston to an audience of approximately 200 alumni and their guests. We anticipate the upcoming conference to be even larger given the concentration of Princeton alumni in the Bay Area and up and down the west coast.

Startups interested in applying to the 2019 Princeton Alumni Angels Spring Pitch Night event on Wednesday evening can apply at the PAA site. The startups selected to pitch to the Princeton angel network on Wednesday will also present at the Startup Showcase on Thursday evening, April 11.

If you have questions, please email Don Seitz '79, Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement, Princeton Entrepreneurship Council, at donseitz@princeton.edu.

Please be advised that photography and video/audio recording of the conference will be performed for educational and promotional purposes only.
