Princeton Alumni Angels (PAA) and the Princeton Entrepreneurship Council (PEC) are delighted to invite you to the next panel in PAA's Entrepreneurship Series, Behind the Buzzword: The Present & Future of Machine Learning.
Machine learning has become a widely used buzzword and it's often challenging to understand what machine learning actually encompasses and to differentiate the reality from the ubiquitous hype and understandable confusion.
This exciting panel features a terrific lineup of outstanding professionals who will explore some of the key questions surrounding machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data, tapping into their deep experience as professors, founders and investors.
- Ryan Adams, Professor of Computer Science at Princeton. Ryan focuses on machine learning and artificial intelligence and was co-founder and CEO of machine learning startup Whetlab (sold to Twitter in 2015)
- Rich Boyle, Partner at VC firm Canaan Partners and the former Chairman and CEO of LoopNet, the leading online marketplace for the commercial real estate market
- Margaret Holen *95, Lecturer at Princeton in the Operations Research and Financial Engineering (ORFE) Department, where she teaches a course in financial innovation focusing in machine learning applications in lending. Margaret was formerly a Partner at Goldman Sachs and works with startup companies as an investor and advisor
- Arvid Wang *11, Founder and CEO of LaiYe, a startup that builds digital assessment bots for enterprise clients and professionals in China using artificial intelligence. Arvid worked with the Keller Center to create a Princeton Startup Immersion Program (PSIP) in Shanghai
This virtual panel will be moderated by Tracy Moore '85, a C-Suite executive with leadership roles in multiple startups, including as COO and founding partner of machine learning and artificial intelligence companies Argus AI Systems and Triias.
