Event Description
The Future of Mobility and Transportation (and Wine Tasting)

Join us as we discuss the Future of Mobility with a talented panel of experts in mobility and transportation (and enjoy a wine tasting from Proud Pour).

Where is my jetpack? Well, we don’t have our jetpacks yet, but we do have self-driving cars, fleets of scooters and e-bikes, electric planes, and myriad rideshare companies. What are the issues facing us as our mobility and transportation choices change in the future? Car ownership patterns and use of public transportation are changing–dramatically influenced by COVID. Looking into the future, how will we manage traffic and pollution? Fund and support mass transit given decreased ridership? Encourage multiple modes of transport? What role will mobility and transportation play in advancing economic growth and promoting equity, public health, and a clean environment for all? Come to hear what our panel has to say and ask them what they think the future will bring.

After the panel discussion and audience Q&A, we will have a virtual reception with two special offers for attendees. We’re hosting a wine tasting featuring a Princeton alumnus-led sustainable wine company and the wine the company produces. Proud Pour co-founder Brian Thurber (Princeton ’01) will join to tell us about his wine company that, for every bottle of wine sold, gives back to 22 environmental nonprofits protecting bees, wild oysters, sea turtles, and coral reefs.

Visit the Proud Pour shop and use code PROUDTIGER at checkout to get free shipping on 3+ bottles (a $20-30 value) for the first 25 buyers. This offer is open to all attendees and Proud Pour encourages you to place your order 10 days in advance of the event to assure on-time delivery of the wines. You will receive three wonderful wines that will be discussed during the tasting and know that you are contributing to the health of the environment.

Additionally, and particularly of interest to Princeton alumni, event sponsor Princeton Entrepreneurship Council (PEC) is pleased to offer a free stemless wine glass (with a Princeton decal) from the University Store for the first 35 requests (UPDATE: Sold Out!) Visit the U-Store website, add the wine glass to your cart, and use code PROUDTIGER to receive your glass for free. Limit one glass per household, please. Like many local businesses, the U-Store has been hit hard by the economic downturn, so your support is greatly appreciated. Please also consider adding a few more items to your U-Store shopping cart – the wine glass and those Princeton items will go great with your Proud Pour wine! Order both by October 10th to ensure you receive the wine and the wine glass in time for the panel discussion and wine tasting events on the 21st.

Wait – there’s more! The Yale School of Management is pleased to offer a free insulated tumbler for the first 35 requests from SOM alumni! Send your request to or [email protected] and include your name, physical mailing address (no PO Box), and phone number for delivery. Limit one per household. Yale SOM will accept requests through Friday, October 16th or until supplies last.

If you would like to attend, please fill out the registration form.
