PEC is excited to announce the second TigerTalks On The Road event on Thursday, April 19 in Palo Alto, CA.
This TigerTalks on the Road panel event will discuss the hot, trending topic of “AI and Computer Vision." We are delighted that the faculty panelist will be Thomas Funkhouser, Princeton Professor of Computer Science and Head of the 3D Vision Lab on campus. Computer vision researchers at Princeton, led by Professors Funkhouser and Olga Russakovsky, focus on developing artificially intelligent systems that are able to reason about the visual world, and on building a variety of machine learning techniques. The team works collaboratively with colleagues in graphics, robotics, natural language processing, human-computer interaction, and neuroscience. Alumni panelists will include Bryton Shang '12, CEO and Founder of Aquabyte, a startup that applies machine learning and computer vision to the salmon farming industry, which has been funded by PEC's Alumni Entrepreneurs Fund and several high-profile VC firms; Jeff Rosedale '86, Partner at Baker and Hostetler, LLP, who consults on IP legal issues with startups including several computer vision clients; and Ajit Singh, Partner at Artiman, who invests in computer vision companies for the venture capital firm, including a recent investment in a company that delivers imaging and sensor systems to address critical market needs in military reconnaissance, infrastructure security and transportation safety.
The evening will begin with a panel discussion and audience Q&A and then will be followed with a networking reception, co-hosted by Princeton Club of Northern California (PCNC) and Princeton Alumni Angels (PAA).
This TigerTalks on the Road event will be held on Thursday, April 19 starting at 6:30 pm at DLA Piper, 2000 University Avenue, Palo Alto, CA.
