Workshop: Understanding the Financial Aspects

Tue, Nov 27, 2018, 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

The Keller Center welcomes Richard Ash, clinical professor of business (emeritus) at the Raymond A. Mason School of Business at William and Mary, to the Princeton campus for a series of three workshops this fall. The series is designed to both guide and assist those interested in the creation, selling, financing and valuation of both smaller enterprises and new startup businesses. It is a hands-on series with discussions focusing on the successful outcome of your project/concept. Students may register for any or all of the workshops but are highly encouraged to attend all three in the series. The sessions run from 5 to 6:30pm. Dinner will be provided and separate registration is required for each session.

Session III: Understanding the Financial Aspects (11/27)
In this session we will discuss the Pre/post money valuation of your project while building and understanding financial statements in an easy to convey manner. We will also discuss term sheets & a step by step process on how to value your project in order for you to best understand how much of the project you would be expected to give away.

Read Richard Ash's speaker bio on the Keller Center's website.

Past Sessions
Session I: Business Plans & Entrepreneurship (10/23)
In the first session we will discuss and show how to effectively write business plans, put them together, understand their purpose and, most importantly, ultimately get them read by possible investors, lenders and collaborators.

Session II: Selling Yourself and Your Project/Concept to Others (11/6)
This session will be dedicated to enhancing your abilities to create and foster a positive action by the participant(s) to whom you are pitching.
