Six exciting startups ranging from commercial ventures to social impact organizations presented at Thrive: Celebrating and Empowering Princeton's Black Alumni. Each startup featured a Princeton black alumni founder or member in the C-suite. A panel of judges selected the best presentation and the audience voted for the “Audience Choice” winner. Princeton Entrepreneurship Council sponsored the Startup Showcase, including monetary prizes.
Autism relationship app Hiki won both Judges’ Choice ($5,000) and Audience Choice ($1,000). Presented by Amira Karriem Artis ’09 and Jamil Karriem, Hiki is the first-ever relationship (friendship and dating) app specifically for the Autistic community. “Able” in Hawaiian, Hiki is available now for download at the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.
