
As a vice president with energyRe, Frank Norcross is part of the leadership team responsible for development of Clean Path New York, a proposed 1300MW HVDC transmission line which will connect new wind & solar generation directly to New York City. When completed, this project will provide approximately 15% of NYC’s power and will avoid the emission of 49 million tons of CO2eq. In this capacity, he holds a number of responsibilities, ranging from engineering & entitlements to generation portfolio management and land acquisition.
Prior to energyRe, he worked for the Related Companies and was responsible for energy management across Hudson Yards, the largest private real estate development in U.S. history, comprising 17 million square feet of commercial, residential, retail and public space on Manhattan’s West Side. In this role, Mr. Norcross led the team behind the development and operation of a 13.3MW cogeneration plant which anchors a district energy system and microgrid.
Mr. Norcross started his civilian career at the US Department of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy administering Recovery Act grants to state and local governments pursuing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in their jurisdictions.
Prior to the Department of Energy, he served as an officer in the United States Navy in the submarine warfare community.
Mr. Norcross holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a Masters in Public Affairs with a concentration in Economics and Public Policy from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
