Laurence is both an entrepreneur and investor. He has more than 20 years of experience developing, launching and scaling new technology products and services as well as investing in and advising early-stage startups. Laurence started his post-Princeton career at McKinsey & Company. His subsequent career experience includes running an enterprise financial software business for SunGard (bought by FIS) where he launched into several markets in Latin America. Laurence was head of ventures for IEX, a leading stock exchange in the US, where he was responsible for new business innovation, investments, BD and M&A. During his time there, IEX launched four new businesses.
Laurence is co-founder and co-chair of Princeton Alumni Angels of Greater NY. Princeton Alumni Angels (PAA) is an angel investment and education organization that is open to all alumni, parents and affiliated persons of Princeton University. Since 2018, PAA has invested in 35 startups and deployed over $11M.
Laurence earned a Master in Public Affairs from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs where he was a Public Policy and International Affairs Fellow. He is a Fellow of the 2019 class of the Aspen Institute’s Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
