Chip helps faculty and students develop and manage collaborative research and education partnerships with companies in the western part of the United States. Based in the San Francisco Bay area, he led the corporate engagement team for Northwestern's engineering school before coming to Princeton in 2015. 

Prior to that, he was a market development executive for several information technology startups and helped drive one of them to a successful IPO. Chip is very interested in the dynamics of innovation and commercializing University research.  He earned a B.A. and Ph.D., both from Northwestern University.
