Bio/Description

Roy Leads the Ford Foundation's Mission Investments team charged with executing on the Foundation's commitment to invest $1 billion of its endowment in mission-related investments and managing one of the nation's largest portfolios of program-related investments.

Formerly Co-Head of Morgan Stanley's Global Sustainable Finance team that has committed over $13 billion in impact investments since 2010. Held other concurrent roles at Morgan Stanley including CRA Officer of Morgan Stanley Bank and Morgan Stanley Private Bank, CEO of Morgan Stanley Impact SBIC, and Director of Morgan Stanley Community Investments LLC.

General Manager with significant people management, financial management, strategy, business development, risk management, corporate governance, compliance, regulatory relations, and community relations experience. Multi-asset class transaction experience including affordable housing, small business, and impact-oriented private equity funds.

Current and former board and limited partner advisory board memberships include The Brick Church School, Brightwood Capital SBIC II, Core Innovation Capital, The Dalton School, Enterprise Community Partners, HCAP, Low Income Investment Fund, NEF Affordable Housing Preservation Fund, Partnership for After School Education (PASE), and Resurrection Episcopal Day School (REDS).

Past experience includes investment banking, CFO roles, nonprofit management, corporate law, and founding Chief Investment Officer of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone.
