President, Regional Plan Association

Tom Wright, a Princeton graduate with a degree in history and a certificate in American studies, is President and CEO of Regional Plan Association, a metropolitan research, planning, and advocacy organization. As President and in his role as Executive Director from 2001-2015, Wright has helped lead many RPA initiatives such as the 2017 Fourth Regional Plan. Before RPA, Wright was deputy executive director of the NJ Office of State Planning where he coordinated production of the NJ State Development and Redevelopment Plan. In addition, he was RPA’s New Jersey director and coordinator of the award-winning Mayors' Institute on City Design. Today he is a visiting lecturer at Columbia’s Graduate School of Architecture.
