Tyson is a Director on the Partnerships team at Breakthrough Energy, specializing in supporting the capital needs of our portfolio companies and projects by facilitating necessary financial partnerships. He joined Breakthrough Energy Catalyst in April 2021, where he had responsibilities for project finance. His role involves closely working with corporate, government, and finance partners to advance technologies essential for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

Previously, Tyson was the Vice President of Capital Markets at The Engine, aiding portfolio companies in navigating their unique capital challenges by connecting them with suitable capital providers and institutions. His rich background includes a 15-year tenure on Wall Street with Goldman, Sachs & Co., and Barclays, where he managed relationships with major institutional investors and corporations across the US and Europe. 

Tyson earned an AB in Politics from Princeton University, focusing on the geopolitical implications of fossil fuel dependence, and demonstrated his leadership as the Captain of the Princeton Heavyweight Men’s Crew Team.
